Visa Policy (2025)
- Indian citizens need a Schengen C-type visa for tourism, business, or short stays in the Schengen area. Gov.pl
- Applications are to be submitted in person at VFS-Global Visa Application Centres (VAC) under the Polish mission. Gov.pl
- The visa application must be made no earlier than 6 months before travel, and generally no later than 15 calendar days before the trip starts. Gov.pl
Documents Required
Typical documents (for a tourist Schengen visa via Poland):
- Valid passport:
- Schengen visa application form: Completed and signed. Gov.pl
- Two recent passport-style photos. (Schengen specs)
- Travel medical insurance: Minimum coverage €30,000 for medical emergencies, valid for all Schengen states. Gov.pl
- Proof of accommodation: Hotel bookings / invitation. Gov.pl

- Proof of financial means: Bank statements, salary slips, sponsor letter if needed. Gov.pl
- Covering letter: Purpose of trip, day-wise plan, etc. (often recommended).
Fees & Processing
- Visa fee: ~ INR 8,272 (as per Polish consulate / VFS) for a standard Schengen visa. Gov.pl
- Decision time: Usually 15 calendar days, but can go up to 45 days in exceptional cases. Gov.pl
- Visa fee is non-refundable, even if the visa is denied. Gov.pl
Additional Notes
- As with all Schengen visas, sufficient documentation and clarity (itinerary, finances) is very important; consulates scrutinize carefully.
- If applying via Poland, but planning to travel to other Schengen countries too, mention all planned countries in the cover letter / form.
